| Well that's what I call an incredibly productive fortnight. Must try and remember things and not forget them...Pygmalion is Monday 26th, Woking is the 29th, and before then and now it's either City Lit, BAC or both. Yes? Yes.
I think I'm going to slightly cut down on the alcohol a bit. For some reason, my body seems to flucuate between being able to handle absolutely loads, and, well, not. Case in point, Friday night I could guzzle countless glasses and bottles, but Saturday night saw me feeling incredibly queasy after about the fourth bottle. It's possible some of Friday's stuff was still inside me, but moving, even talking, made me feel even worse. I thought it was about 10pm by this time, so was quite surprised to learn that it was in fact 1am and the last train had gone a fair while ago. Luckily I soon found an N98 bus to take me home, got back at quarter past 2. Collapsed into bed, slept lots, woke up the next morning and cringed as I remembered everything that happened. Randomly talking to girls and calling them pretty is something I don't tend to do unless I'm drunk, luckily they seemed flattered rather than worried.
A very successful week, I'd say! Compared to the previous one the weather's been a bit crapper, but still lots of very, very fun stuff. A great combination of seeing old friends, current ones and making new ones. Tomorrow it's BAC time again, can't wait! - Mood:relaxed

| [The sequel to this entry, in which I pointed out the worst typo I have ever known.] http://www.visit4info.com/preview-flash.cfm?vm=0&type=2&adid=58280In my opinion, that boy is responsible for some of the worst acting ever performed on this planet. It genuinely makes me angry. He should be banned from TV, or at the very least from mine, for a long time. If you have seen worse acting than that, do please tell me about it and link to it if it's online. | |

| I find it annoying and upsetting that my mum would rather do the same thing on a saturday, that she does every other evening, than spending some time together as a family doing something fun.
I just suggested having a game of bowling on the Wii tonight. mum got annoyed and told me it's her tv and she won't be dictated too. it's saturday night, and she wants to relax and watch telly.
so that mean i'll be in my room once again playing my pc, while mum drives my dad to depression with another fun filled evening of watching Law&Order repeats. - Mood:annoyed

| Dear friends, In a failing attempt to keep up with everything that is going on around me, I am hoping that I might use this space, and your help, towards an article that I am writing for our English magazine, Noted. The working title is "Crackpot Culture": the article will offer a few thoughts about what constitutes a love for music, how music correlates with 'culture', and to what extent attitudes to music are dictated (or intimidated) by such determinant 'culture' (aided by the theory of Clifford Geertz). I would be delighted, and very grateful, for comments on / replies to all or any of the following questions; anonymous responses would be welcome, and any general comments outside the parameters of the questions would be great too. * Do you class yourself as a music lover? What constitutes a 'music lover' or a love for music? * Do you believe music (taste) is an expression of, and / or defines, personality? * What is your greatest dedicatory act to music (e.g. amount spent on one item / concert ticket; distance travelled to a concert; attending Glastonbury)? * How important is music as a means of forming social relationships at home / school / work? * How important is music as a measure of social standing / popularity? * Have you experienced any pressure of any description to neglect your own tastes in favour of what is considered popular? (If yes, is this still ongoing, or when did it begin to change? If no, do you think such pressure exists?) I'm hoping for as many responses as possible in a short time. If anyone is willing to link this from their own journal or elsewhere - to a number of friends not on my own list who you think may be interested in answering - I'll happily acknowledge your help if replies come through. A year ago today, I was hearing exciting things from exciting people. I'd very much like today (and the following) to be the same! I will also cautiously welcome anyone interested to join the Noted / Department forum. Naturally it is intended for Genevan students, but it has not been well received so far, and, as the article may end up resonating, it seems our students only wish to react when something has become popular rather than helping to build it to that stage. Many thanks, and much love. - Mood:busy

| I posted about wanting to shoot Football twats the other day. Well I also have an issue with the police using excessive force when it's not necessary. This image was taken from http://usera.imagecave.com/lothianblue/g mp1.bmp.jpg and has been posted around elsewhere. Now on the face of it, it looks like an innocent guy standing next to a phone booth with a "right behind you" sign (I love it!) gets shoved and whacked by a police officer who almost seems to enjoy it. No I can think of a couple of reasons from twatting this guy... He's drinking in public and he looks the obnoxious sort. But the force used is somewhat excessive if he's only those things. Now it might be that minutes before hand this guy had done something perhaps specific to the police officer involved and the officer was just getting revenge. This is a mere fragment of a much larger event, but taken as a singular piece of evidence it doesn't bode well for the police. | |

| So, it's home time at Merryhills, when the leader of the Rub Rabbits taps me on the shoulder and three dramatic chords, followed by a boing, indicate that I need to paint the shelves of a, well, a shelvy thing. I need to paint them blue and yellow.
So I do that, although not with a stylus.
I repeat the task on Monday. Hopefully, like in Project Rub, this is followed by a [love scene]. - Mood:blah

| Does anyone hereabouts work for a company who might be willing to donate a dozen or so mouse mats to a worthy cause? All the ones hereabouts are falling apart and it really would make a huge difference to the volunteers who have to use them! More details on request if required... | |

| After the violence that occurred in Manchester I'm absolutely glad there's no involvement in the European Cup for England this year. This "sport" is a farce and those who continue to publicise it and make money should be socially responsible and setup gas chambers in their multi-million pound football arenas to kill those who show the slightest hint of causing trouble.
The police in this case should have been issued with Ak47's and been ordered to wipe out the lot of them.

| I think I just lived a whole week in one day. God knows how I fit so many different things in.
*Started off trying to get this damn passport sorted out. I brought my application form and birth certificate to the Post Office, but was told that I needed my full, original one rather than the more recent one I had. Unfortunately that got lost over a decade ago so I'll need to get a copy from somewhere.
*Got a ticket for 'Pygmalion' at the Old Vic theatre. Brilliantly, if you're under 25 you get really good seats for just £12, when they're normally £45. Some say ageism, I say Yay.
*Another great, fun, productive day at City Lit. I know I've said it before but the way everyone bonds so quickly there is incredible, it's only halfway through the term and I feel like I've known the people in my class forever.
*Two new albums are now mine - the one today being 'The Very Best of Prince'. This follows on from Wednesday when I got 'Top of the Pops 1990', which is part of a series of albums with every year of the programme's history (standout tracks for me being EMF's 'Unbelievable' and Kim 'Don't Worry'). Cost me £9 combined for the two, my HMV giftcard discounting things a bit.
*What a night working at the BAC!! Although I didn't intend to I managed to get a ticket for one of the shows they were doing, which, erm, involved being put in a wheelchair, blindfolded, your hands tied up, and you being led around this crazy room with crazy sounds. At one point you're taken out your chair only for someone to push you against a wall and take your picture, still blindfolded. Another, a woman pushes you onto a bed and starts stroking your legs. It's one of the most bizarre but unique things I've ever done, sadly it was their last night tonight. Very glad I got to experience it while I could.
After fuelling myself up with a bottle of Magners, I got home, and, erm, am still awake. This is not good given that I might have a 7am start, which is in less than four and a half hours and counting. I think I need sleep, and fast.
Night! - Mood:exhausted

| poggs Either way, arriving at Gatwick at 9am gives me a good hour to mooch around severe_delays Yeah, but that will get eaten up with dropping your bags and wandering to the departure lounge'n'stuff poggs Bags? It's a day-trip. Cabin baggage. severe_delays Seriously - put your bag in. That way you can fuck off for a bit and there's no way the plane can leave without you. poggs laughs out loud and hard severe_delays They'd rather send sniffer dogs round the airport than have to work out which was your bag and get it out the hold | |

| I present here a conversation between me and my girlfriend: "Look at that picture!" "What, that one?" "Who's that next to you?" "That's my sister. She doesn't have braces any more." "You look hot." *pause* "Really?! I never thought short hair suited me." "Really. Seriously, that's a really hot picture." "But I've got a really goofy smile." "Yeah, and short hair and designer stubble." "It's not really designer stubble, I just forgot to shave." "But... but, the hair!" "Oh... erm..." *blush* "...thanks, lovey." The result was, of course, ( a haircut. )It took my hairdresser over half an hour to cut my hair. When the hairdresser for Working Title Pictures took less time than that to cut my hair for an appearance in a major film, this is surprising. | So, I went to Merryhills today, despite the fact that my stomach was pulsing like a motherfucker, because - let's be frank - when I'm a little bit worried, or stressed, or waiting, or every single fucking morning I happen to be going to school, it hurts. You know, intermittently. On and off. And then it stops hurting. It's painful, but it stops after a bit.
So, I got to Merryhills, and it didn't stop hurting. My thoughts ran like this: * "This is interesting." * "Am I meant to be feeling as if I'm going to be sick, too? It it normally like this?" * "Fuck! I have gastroenteritis again!" * "No, wait. I can't. I'm still standing up." * "Fuck! I've got whatever Fiona had last week!" * "Actually, no, because that was more like a cold or something. She could barely move." * "Fuck! I'm in so much pain!" * "I could have sworn Georgina doesn't have that many fingers..."
So, I went to see Carol, the welfare lady. She told me to go home; I tried to argue, but then I saw the wisdom in her words... my children are 5 years old. If I have stupid bowel-related symptoms, being around them isn't going to help. Plus, I might get hit in the stomach.
So, I cycled home. In the rain. It was cold, and wet, and by the time I got home I was worse.
So, then I went to sleep, and I felt better.
Bit of a waste of a day. But needs must. - Mood:sore

| I keep leaving my LJ to collect dust, poor thing. Anywho - I've now officially finished my 8 years of Musical Theatre training!!! THANK ****)(&^$£()*^%$"!"$$"£$%^&*(**"&£*£"&£&^$*(** FOR THAT! No more leotards, no more sight singing exams, no more scores, no more going against my acting instincts because the music dictates otherwise, no more 8.30am abdominal and core training warm-ups, no more pliés, no more MT! :-D Okay, well I'm doing a Y13 Musical Theatre graduate showcase at the New Players Theatre in a few weeks (but that's more for soppyness's sake really, and to perform in a very nice theatre indeed).
But yeah ... Woah. The last day was crazy emotional. I have never cried and smiled so much at the same time. I am so happy and priviliged to have trained at such a fantastic place and spent the best 4 years of my life so far doing it, but I'm so sad to see it all go. It hit me that ... I have to grow up. I know I have been doing and etc, but ... The BRIT MT teachers are like family, as silly as that sounds, and it broke my heart to know I wont be on another project with them. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut - I am going back to BRIT to do Year 14 Acting Bridge course, to bridge myself into doing straight acting at vocational colleges. Also gives me time to earn money to audition for said places. But it wont be like the BRIT I knew when I go back. All of the people I've grown up with for the past 4 years will have gone, and a whole bunch of new 'uns will have arrives, plus the fact I'll be way off in the Theatre department. Oooh, and as for my Final Major Projects (Carousel and Spend, Spend, Spend)... I got straight dinstinctions in both! ^.^ Has made me very happy indeed! And got straight distinctions in Arts Business Management :-D
Am off to Padstow on Friday, which is a welcome break from this dreary place known as Croydon. I'm so incredibly sick of it. I cannot wait to be so far away from the chavs, and the rude boys and the noise. To just sit in that little bay at midnight, with a book and be so quietly content. :-) I can't wait.
Anywho, I thought you all deserved an update (plus I finally found the time to!) So tada! - Mood:contemplative

Generally go growly-quiet, patience and attention span hit the deck and the blue-touch paper's generally laid out for some dumb bastard to try lighting. I notice I tend to get a little blunt and occasionally flowery with the language. It's not the big "bad days" that get to me. It's when you get no end of constant, frustrating little niggles that are worthless on their own but stack up over time. If any one remembers "Mr Incredible" from the semi-recent Pixar film when He loses it on that little tinbox of a car, you get the general idea...

Authors Note: Right, this is my first slashtheweek posting, so I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing. If it comes out a mess with loads of mistakes, tell me what they are and how to fix them. Then I shall fix them and blame society for allowing them to happen in the first place. 14/5/08: Ok, here comes take 2. Thanks to everybody who offered a hand, I'm such a newbie :-P Fingers-crossed and here we go.

| This journal on the 17th October 2007: "Wow, so today was the day when I had my first Wispa in four and a half years. It felt bizarre eating it, but hey, the world with Wispas feels like a safer place. Could you please bring back Opal Fruits while you're at it, manufacturers?"
Tadaaaa! After ten years away, you can now pick them up at your local ASDA for a limited time only. I got some today in Clapham, and while they're essentially just re-renamed Starburst, it felt very surreal but fun having them after so long. Made to make your mouth water indeed.
Today was good. Not perfect but nothing nasty happened, but what's great is that I'm now fully back at the BAC for the next two weeks. Even though it's only May it's already something that I'll look back in years to come as an absolutely huge part of my life in 2008, and every day there is a pleasure.
One thing I am worried about is that I'm going to cram myself with so much happenings that I'll start to forget about stuff. I've got both Fatboy Slim and Kylie coming in July, don't want to forget them! - Mood:mellow

| I have two spare desktop computers. One has Win95, the other Win98, and both suck (although quite stable when it comes to running BeOS 5).
They may be beyond help (that is to say, I can't find a way to format either of them); they both need a PS/2 mouse and are both cluttered up with anything, but if anyone thinks they can find a use for a couple of PCs, let me know. I have monitors too. I just don't want all this to go to the dump. - Mood:curious

| I know I have an essay to mark for the first time in a while when an insect comes floating, pleading to be squatted, and I pick up said essay, move menacingly towards the creature, and ... pause. The mind harkens back to a confession I made on a Facebook picture about creatures, a student essay and evidence - not in but on the essay. I have no pretext to blame it on Symun this time. Please, Time, slow down a while. - Mood:Perplexed

| Sunshine? Check. Coolness? Check. Good day? Hella check.
Saw a great play tonight with some friends, it's called 'Small Change' and it's at the Donmar Warehouse in Covent Garden. Very simple staging but it's highly enjoyable and energetic. Tonight was a Student Night, so not only were the tickets a brilliantly low £5, but we got to chat to the cast afterwards, including Sue Johnston who played Barbara in The Royle Family, and before that Sheila Grant in Brookside. That's the beauty of London, so many theatres!
Realising I still had a HMV voucher I hadn't spent yet, I went in there and got a Pendulum album. Not the new one that came out today though, but their previous one, Hold Your Colour, as it was part of their wonderful '2 CDs for £10' offer. The other one I got was a compilation album of the now-defunct 'Hits' series, this one called 'Essential Hits' and having three discs worth of songs from 2005. My voucher meant that it cost me £8 combined for the two, which is something I'm very pleased about.
I'm a bit worried actually. This is the zillonth good day in a row now. Something's bound to go wrong soon, surely? Actually no. No it isn't. - Mood:optimistic

| w00tage!
I haven't seen them myself yet but another driver has seen them out playing. I've certainly seen one of the northern foxes doing foxy business a few times lately so activity there has definitely increased. There was a second fox in that area last year - I have seen a second foxy pelt dashing through the undergrowth but it's hard to tell if it's the same small adult fox or a large cat. Will have to wait and see on that one. I haven't seen the southern fox yet but i think that's a male so less likely to be faffing around in daytime I guess.
I've been keeping an eye out for the cubs for the last few weeks. We had them last year...well, we had one last year...and I was hoping for more. I think this might only be her second litter as lil Miss North looks quite young. Can't wait to see 'em! - Mood:pleased
